Fatehgarh Sahib. Paucity of funds could not deter Maharashtra born Nandini Joshi in completing her research work on Guru Granth Sahib. Nandini, who started her research work on the holy Guru Granth Sahib in 2002, said completing her research on Guru Granth Sahib, despite the odds faced by her, including financial, was a prestige.
She first visited Punjab in 2002 to start a research on late Gurcharan Singh Tohra. But, that year Tohra had advised her to make some valuable contribution to Sikhism, and there was no looking back. Talking to Newsline after paying obeisance at Gurdwara Chaave Patshahi, Mandi Gobindgarh, the twenty-eight-year-old woman who is also pursuing her doctorate in tourism said that some people requested her to do research on Gurcharan Singh Tohra and then publish a book.
The work on the project would be complete by October and following this she is planning to submit another research on the life of Tohra. Joshi has been documenting various aspects of Guru Granth Sahib using modern audio and visual technologies.
Her other title ‘Sri Guru Granth Sahib -A Living Guru of Mankind’ was published in December. The book is being circulated free of cost.
“SGPC present president Avtar Singh Makkar helped me in bringing out this title,” she said, adding that she was optimistic in publishing her new title on late Tohra.
