Populating this databse has been a daunting task and one that seems would never quite end. It involved trawling through hundreds of files and emails, thousands of newspaper records on the internet and speed reading millions of words.

What has emerged is a set of stories that documents the state of Punjab's ancient heriatge in all its forms. I will let the reader pass judgement on what that "state" is !

An interesting cast of characters emerged from this effort. Varinder Walia and Jangveer Singh seem to be single handedly reporting the decay in the State's built heritage. The word "kar seva" brings me a chill as the story unfolds of layers of architectural heriatge being wiped out in the name of "beutification". History gets wiped out by marble. The name Baba Jagtar Singh is especially chilling as story after story recount his destruction of Punjab's rich built heritage. Now it seems he is turning his attention to Pakistan for fresh buildings to "beautify".

Gurmeet Rai and the CRCI emerge as heroes in single handedly trying to avert this man made disaster.

I hope to launch this site in a few weeks
