To develop the city as a major tourist destination, the government has commenced the implementation of the tourism projects with conservation of the Summer Palace and Ram Bagh Garden in the initial phase, he said. The project includes the conservation of Summer Palace and move to re-use it as a Museum, conservation of western buildings, used as a Darbar by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Landscape development was planned in 7.5 acres of Rambagh Garden. It was also planned to develop and preserve the original fountain scheme of the Char Bagh, he said.
