A Picture of the Punjab - New Gallery Launched PDF Print E-mail

 In recognition of the one-year anniversary of the launch of our daily news site Punjab Heritage News we have added six stunning galleries of photography of some of the most important heritage locations in the Punjab.

A new location will be added each month. Access is available to those who have registered and logged into the Punjab Heritage website. Registration is simple and free. Log in and then click on the "Gallery" option.

The Royal City of Patiala
Recent photography in the royal city of Patiala. Patiala is a city in the Punjab state of India. Patiala district is one of the famous princely cities of erstwhile Punjab. Forming the south-eastern part of the state.

 

 

 

Tomb of Jahangir
Tomb of Jahangir, is the mausoleum built for the Mughal Emperor Jahangir who ruled from 1605 to 1627. The mausoleum is located in Lahore, Pakistan. His son Shah Jahan built the mausoleum 10 years after his father's death.

 

 

The Samadhi of Ranjit Singh
The Samadhi of Ranjit Singh is the mausoleum of the Sikh ruler Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Located in Lahore, Pakistan, near the Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque, the mausoleum was begun by his son Kharak Singh on the spot where he was cremated.

 

 

Badshahi Masjid
The Badshahi Masjid, or the 'Emperor's Mosque', was built in 1673 by the Emperor Aurangzeb in Lahore, Pakistan. It is one of the city's best known landmarks, and a major tourist attraction epitomising the beauty and grandeur of the Mughals.

 

 

Kapurthala's Built Heritage
The history of the Town of Kapurthala goes back as early as the 11th Century when it's said to have been founded by Rana Kapur, a scion of the ruling house of Jaisalmer (Rajasthan).

 

 

 

Dera Sahib Gurdwara Lahore
Gurdwara Dera Sahib is situated opposite Lahore Fort near Badshahi Mosque. This is the place where Sat Gur Arjun Dev Ji was martyred in the River Ravi facing the tortures inflicted by Chandu on 30th May 1606 AD.
